The goal of this project is to support internationalization on campus by engaging students in community-building food work that highlights global culinary diversity and cultivates greater appreciation of food as cultural heritage. In simpler terms, the goal is to foster global learning, connection, and belonging through food and stories.
International student volunteers have shared recipes of cultural significance and taught students in Food in Culture & Social Justice (FCSJ) 406 Food Projects how to prepare the dish in OSU’s Memorial Union Teaching Kitchen. The Food Projects students have interviewed their international student partners and conducted library research on the dish and the cuisine it represents, using this newly obtained knowledge to produce either an infographic or a zine.
Below are the recipes shared by the international students and the infographics and zines created by the Food Projects students.
This project was funded in part by an Internationalization Grant from Global Affairs.
