International Women's Day

“Votes for Women,” from the Leaf Girls series, by Anna Fidler, Senior Instructor of Art, College of Liberal Arts
In 1913, vigilant suffragist Emily Davison died in an attempt to attach a suffragist silk scarf to the king's horse as it crossed the finish line at the derby. In this homage, environmentalist feminists the 'Leaf Girls', dressed as jockeys, exuberantly carry Davison's scarf to victory.
